‘Project CARS 3’ Launches With VR Support

‘Project CARS 3’ Launches With VR Support - WeAreVR VR News

Project CARS is a racing video game series developed by Slightly Mad Studios and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. We’ve seen that Slightly Mad Studios has supported virtual reality (VR) enthusiasts with the Project CARS Racing series since it has released for the first time in 2016. The franchise was introduced in 2015 and received a sequel in 2017, with the third video game of the series has been announced in 2018.

It will support PC VR headsets such as Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive and Valve Index.

With the official announcement, it is informed that it will have "best-in-class" PC VR support for headsets like Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive and Valve Index. Although the game, which provides visual richness and perfect customization as a VR racing game, will support PlayStation 4, there is no information yet that a study has been made and will be listed for PlayStation VR.

Project CARS 3 will be launched this summer, bringing together players from all over the world on the online platform, with 200 different races and the option of customizing their cars according to their tastes, using over 140 components.

In addition to this, there will be many features such as collision effects and contact of cars with 12k support. Dynamic weather variables such as night and day races, seasons and more weather scenarios will have a real 24-hour cycle.

Also in the announcement by the studio, the new multiplayer mode, along with community modes and career mode, will allow players to enter and compete repeatedly to protect their titles with daily challenging challenges. While confirming that there will be new cars such as Acura NSX, NSX GT3, the Interlagos Track of Brazil will be added at the same time.

Project CARS 3 seems to be one of the best games of the year for VR fans. Although it is little bit distressing that PlayStation VR is not supported. This may be because PlayStation 4, which lags behind as hardware, cannot fully support VR as a graphic. We hope it will support PlayStation 5.

Project CARS 3 was announced in December 2018. The game is scheduled to be released in Q2/Q3 2020 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
